Traditional interior design doesn’t just mean the country house style. It can encompass many different styles from Gustavian, Fin de Siècle, Shabby Chic to Biedermeier and many in between.
The projects I’m able to show you here could also be labelled “eclectic,” or “international.”
What the projects in this selection have in common is a layering of textures and detail not associated with contemporary interior design. It’s worth noting that furniture in a traditional interior scheme doesn’t have to be antique, much of it here is bespoke, made using rich veneers and natural inlays such as silver or copper. Layering textiles and rich colours, creating a sympathetic lighting design all add up to a visual richness of a traditional design.
The greatest fun comes when you can mix them all together.
